As you can see, the one I hammered didn't require much persuasion and came out in an unusual intact manner. A ball joint press is essentially a big c-clamp. That's what I used on the difficult one. It seemed to fight the press, so I threw the arm in the oven at 400 degrees until the bushing started to smoke and it came out with some hard cranking. Based on how tight it was in there, I don't believe a standard c-clamp would be up to the task - especially for the ball joints.
